My Sim Addiction

I played my first Sim in the Fall of 2007.
Up until then I'd never heard of the Sims and no idea the game even existed.

I had left Seattle, (my hometown), to take a job at Yosemite National Park in May of 2007. It was seasonal and I was laid off that September, taking on a different job in a nearby town. I lived in a 30 foot trailer with a room-mate deep in the woods just outside of Yosemite.

Saying it was a "rustic" lifestyle is a gross understatement.
We had no bathroom. No kitchen. And no running water.
But we DID have electricity and I had my computer, (the only thing that kept me from going totally bonkers!).

An early snow dumped on us BIG time and I was ready to come unglued from being stuck in that trailer with my room-mate. It was cabin-fever at it's worst. I'd also just been laid off my second job and was feeling super homesick for Seattle - it was a tough time in my life.

My room-mate's cousin would brave the heavy snow and come over now and then to see how we were doing. She was the adventurous type and making her way in all that snow made her feel accomplished I guess. One day she brought me her CD of the Sims 2 basegame. She asked me if I'd ever played and I told her I'd never even heard of it.
She popped it into my computer, brought up the game, took me around Pleasantview for a bit, showed me how to make a custom Sim and then how to move it into a home.
That was it - from that day I've been hopelessly hooked on my Sims.

This blog is dedicated to the passion that has fueled these past 7+ years of my Simming pleasure.
