Sims?
I frequent quite a few forums that are dedicated to Sims 2.
I'm not super vocal when it comes to commenting but do share my game progress regularly at one particular message board, (been there over 2 years now).
At these other forums I'm basically your average, run-of-the-mill lurker.
I read way more than I comment and there was a post that got me thinking the other day about how playing and sharing our Sims has evolved into something a lot more,..well,...involved than it used to be.

Gay
Seems every time I find a Sim story out there that keeps my attention it turns out to be about gay Sims, (males, not female). But then I don't scour the net for Sim stories either, but always keep an eye out for one that might be interesting.
These gay stories don't bother me at all, (in case you were thinking it did), and I have plenty of gay, (and lesbian), story lines going with my Sims as well. Although I hesitate to call them "gay/lesbian stories" because they're the same kind of stories I have for all my other Sims, just happens that the Sims in the stories are gay or lesbian. I don't have too many Sim stories revolving around a gay or lesbian Sim coming out or having problems/major issues with their sexuality.

You can't be a Simmer and not know who Bella Goth is, (you just can't), and if you don't know who Bella Goth is then you're not, (what I would consider), a true Simmer.
Say What?
For almost three years I played my Sims with the sound OFF.
I liked to hook myself up to my portable CD player when I played my hoods so there was no real reason to turn the sound on.
When I finally did I could NOT stand listening to my Sims babble -
it was like nails on a chalkboard for me. But in time, I got rather used to it and nowadays it's no big deal. I've often wondered if they are really saying anything that means something when they chat but I've come to the conclusion, (after listening to them for almost 3 years now), that no, I don't think it means squat.
I do feel the talk bubbles that show above their heads are related to what's happening in their life, (to a degree), but I don't think their actual words mean anything.

I've been "Sim browsing" the last coupla days -
just checking out other custom Sims that gamers create.
It's interesting to see the many, many kinds of Sims that are created out there and to compare them to the Sims that were being created just a short five years or so ago.

Getting Laid
Sorry to disappoint you but this post is NOT about actually getting laid, (having sex), it's about all the overlays that are being added to our Sims these days.

Wish List
There's one thing ALL Sims have in common-
anytime you talk to one of us we will inevitably end up telling you what we "wish" our Sims could do, wish they could have or NOT do or NOT have.
I highly doubt there's one single Simmer out that there that doesn't have some kind of "Wish List" in regard to their Sims.
And I am no exception, I have a loooooong Wish List!

Nothing fascinates me more than Sim pix -
I love looking at pix other gamers take and I'm, totally obsessed with taking my own. I don't take mine into Photo Shop like a lot do so they aren't as "polished" as some, but I do try to take "interesting" shots and capture a feeling of the moment.

Hacks*Mods*Cheats
When I think back to when I first began Simming I almost tear up a little, missing those days when I played my hoods with no hacks, no mods and no cheats.
Back then I had no one to talk to about the game, (if you don't know, I began Simming while living deep in the woods in a 30 ft trailer).

I'm not that much into Sim ghosts, not like a lot of other Simmers out there.
The novelty of them wears off very quickly for me and I don't like having them on any of my Sim's lots. I have my Sims take the headstones of their loved ones to cemeteries that I create and if they want to see a ghost, they go there.
Guess I'd like ghosts more if they weren't so redundant, but that's probably too much to expect from the game, (right?)
Although I have seen where ghosts make beds, take baths but mine have never done any of that. They just roam around and pop out at my Sims, sometimes turning the stereo on or levitating lamps and toys.
I dunno, maybe I should give them more chances to show me what they can do?

if the game wants/suggests having certain Sims together I will totally NOT allow them to be together.
I've played Pleasantview around 3 times -
and each time I get great enjoyment out of Don Lothario and Cassandra Goth not only breaking up and NOT being together, but also loathing each other.
I don't put Don with Nina or Dina Caliente either.
I'm not a huge fan of the sisters, Nina is soooooo OCD and Dina is shallow.
In other words, they bore me.

Don't know a Simmer out there yet that isn't obsessed, (to some degree), about how their Sims look.
Some gamers insist on beautiful Sims, others want unique, while others want the ugliest. I, for one, don't require all my Sims to be perfect when it comes to looks, but I do prefer a pleasing visual quality.
Even at their absolute ugliest, TS2 Sims look 100 times better than the Sims in TS3! But that's not my reason for this post. I wanted to write about how TS2 Sims look, the good, the bad and the ugly.

I think one of he most endearing qualities of The Sims is how freakin funny they can be! And most of the time they don't even realize it. And then when they are aware that something humorous is going down and it involves them, what king sized hams they are!!
